POSITION SPECIFICATION TITLE: SENIOR ANALYST REPORTS TO: MANAGING DIRECTORS AND DIRECTORS OF PUBLIC AND PRIVATE MARKETS DATE: JULY 2022 “It has been my firm conviction throughout life that it is the duty of everyone in the world to do what is within his power to alleviate human suffering” - Alfred I. duPont THE OPPORTUNITY The Alfred I. duPont Charitable Trust is seeking an exceptional professional to join a leading investment management organization that invests exclusively for the benefit of pediatric healthcare. Today, the Trust’s dedicated team manages over $7 billion in assets that provides support to the Nemours Foundation, a leading children’s healthcare system that includes the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, the Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando’s Medical City, and Nemours Children’s Clinics in Delaware, Florida, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. To date, the Trust has provided more than $3 billion for the care and treatment of children primarily in Delaware and Florida, and it has helped hundreds of thousands of sick children find health and new hope for the future, regardless of ability to pay. The Trust’s and Nemours Foundation’s headquarters are in Jacksonville, Florida. The senior analyst position is a unique opportunity to work directly with the dedicated professionals of a small, flat investment organization that has generated strong long-term returns for its beneficiaries. The senior analyst position is a full-time, exempt position, designed to last three years in length with time spent on both the public and private markets segments of the portfolio and will report to the appropriate managing directors and directors of the public and private markets segment. This model provides exposure to the full breadth of assets and strategies in the Trust’s global opportunity set including marketable alternatives, private equity, venture capital, real assets, and private real estate. WHAT YOU WILL DO * Support all investment activities including the creation and maintenance of sophisticated financial, statistical, and quantitative computer models used to evaluate investment decisions and support portfolio and risk management efforts. * Conduct market research and participate in identifying investment areas of potential high interest. * Participate in screening new investment opportunities and conducting comprehensive manager due diligence including onsite meetings, performance benchmarking, reference checks, and review of legal documentation. * Prepare internal monthly and quarterly reports detailing performance, exposures, concentrations and other portfolio characteristics. * Interface with existing and prospective investment managers, custodial bank and external service providers. WHAT YOU BRING * Demonstrated track record of accomplishments and a passion for investing. * Intellectual curiosity and a proactive nature with a demonstrated ability to perform in an unstructured environment. * Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with a firm understanding of investment theory and financial markets. * Excellent oral and written communications skills and ability to analyze and explain complex financial data and concepts. * Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact in a professional manner with outside investment professionals and various internal departments. * Demonstrated desire and ability to perform in a collaborative, team-oriented work environment. * Solid organizational skills and ability to work in a self-directed fashion and manage multiple projects within defined deadlines. * The ability to travel on occasion. * In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. * Two to three years of related work experience. * Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field preferred. Progress towards Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation a plus.
