About the Opportunity:

Flourish Agenda seeks full-time Research Assistant for its Evaluation, Research and Impact (ERI) department. This position will support various meetings and data collection activities that inform the trainings, program services and report writing for the department.

Responsibilities:

Scheduling and external communication support for the ERI Director
- Coordinate and schedule research site and partner meetings and convenings.
- Manage and update ERI external communication matrix.
- Take notes during meetings, convenings and other ERI-led activities with external partners.
Qualitative data collection
- Assist the ERI staff in conducting in-person and/or virtual interviews and focus groups with participants of Flourish Agenda trainings.
- Conduct observations of Flourish Agenda trainings and similar convenings.
Summaries and visual designs of data findings and results
- Assist the ERI staff in writing memos and briefs that summarize key findings, themes and lessons from data collection activities.
- Develop charts and dashboards that provide data visualization and analysis.
Literature reviews and annotated bibliography summaries
- Assist ERI staff with reviews of research studies and methodology literature relevant to Flourish Agenda training content.

Qualifications:

Preferred B.A. or A.A. (or degree pursuant) in education, social sciences, youth development, or a related field.
Strong interest in learning equity-based research approaches, culturally responsive methodologies, and a desire to help grow Flourish Agenda’s body of ERI work.
Strong familiarity with the lived experiences of young people of color and diverse communities.
Strong writing and reporting skills, especially with grammatical spellchecking, punctuation and phrasing.
Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and multitasking (e.g., ability to maintain and track multiple meeting invitations, schedules and follow-up correspondence).
Experience with navigating MS Suite applications, primarily Outlook, Teams, Excel and OneDrive.
Preferred familiarity with data collection and analysis software, including Qualtrics, Descript, Tableau and EndNote.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented and inclusive work environment.
Ability to primarily work remotely, and to attend periodic in-person convenings at the Flourish Agenda offices in Oakland.
Preferred availability for local and regional travel to research site visits.
