While receiving leadership support from the Mission Team Leader, the Job Coach will advance our mission by providing support and training to program participants, inspiring and empowering them to retain employment, gain independence, further develop employment abilities and reach their goals. The Job Coach also ensures that all activities are performed in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision, values, and brand of Goodwill NCW.

Key Responsibilities

Works with participants with varying abilities at various settings and trains on the job skills. Teaches both job skills and soft skills to meet employment standards. Adjusts approach based on participant needs.
Identifies participants strengths, interests, and needs to determine most suitable training methods and serves as an advocate for participants.
Orients participants at new employment and/or volunteer site
Communicates with all those involved to ensure skills instruction support meets the specific needs of each participant and discusses any urgent concerns, changes in job duties or employer/participant feedback that requires immediate attention.
Works cooperatively and collaboratively with Goodwill team members, participants, families, and employers to ensure consistent support for participants.
Partners with Case Managers in the creation of job aids to empower participants to reach individualized goals and grow more independent.

Qualifications

Education, Skills & Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience working with individuals with barriers is preferred.
Willingness and ability to work various hours which may include evenings and weekends.
Ability to adjust to the changing needs of the department and organization and willingness to jump in and help where needed.

Work is performed in a variety of environments with extensive team member contact and frequent interruptions.
Primary function requires sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in varying settings; to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, twist, lift, carry, push and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight.
Ability to drive and operate a motor vehicle with passenger(s).
Verbally communicate to exchange information.
