Position Summary:

The New Orleans Pelicans Associate are seeking an HBCU Fellow to support our Charitable Giving & Social Impact function.

What you will be doing:

Learn and understand the New Orleans Pelicans process to analyze and measure our social impact, including the use of survey data, data programs, audits of outgoing giving requests
Assist with storytelling concepts related to leveraging the NBPA, NBA Social Justice Coalition, and internal PR/Communications teams to amplify our charitable efforts
Assist with managing the pipeline of the Pelicans’ new giving request system, including the review of funding requests to ensure they align with our community investment pillars
Research and aid in the creation of developing a corporate giving program for staff
Conduct outreach to local organizations in New Orleans that meet the requirements for the NBA Foundation funding and walk them through our grant application process

Qualifications

What you’ll bring:

Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program at a 4-year HBCU
Familiarity with charitable giving and/or social impact fundamentals and concepts
Strong project and program coordination skills and a high level of attention to detail
Eager and willingness to grow, learn, and adapt to changing priorities
A positive attitude and an overall enjoyment in working with people
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
