Our client is a kaupapa Māori organisation focused on improving Māori health and wellbeing outcomes across Aotearoa. Their mahi spans workforce development, education, research, leadership and locally led solutions that support whānau to thrive.

This role supports the coordination of projects and programmes within a kaupapa Māori health and wellbeing environment. The role helps promote kaupapa and initiatives that contribute to improved Māori health and wellbeing outcomes, while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, partners and interest groups across the wider health, wellbeing and community sectors.

As this is parental leave cover, the team is looking for someone organised, relationship-led and able to step into an established programme of work with confidence. You will bring practical coordination experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work respectfully within kaupapa Māori environments.

Te āhua o te tūranga | About the role

Coordinate projects, events and activities across a national programme of work
Support project planning, workflows, deliverables and reporting requirements
Build and maintain positive relationships with internal teams, stakeholders and external partners
Support high-profile events, hui, wānanga and sector engagement activities
Help develop and coordinate communications and branded materials for different audiences
Work in a way that upholds kaupapa Māori, tikanga, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally safe practice

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

Experience in project, programme, event or community coordination
Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Confidence working across community, health, wellbeing and kaupapa Māori settings
Strong planning, organisation and attention to detail
An understanding of te ao Māori, tikanga Māori and Māori health aspirations
Te reo Māori capability, or a commitment to strengthening your reo, would be highly valued
Experience or knowledge of hauora Māori, mental health, wellbeing, workforce development or community-led kaupapa would be an advantage
