Scott Family Amazeum Overview

The Scott Family Amazeum is a hands-on, interactive museum in Northwest Arkansas and recognized as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. We create a fun environment where risk taking, imagining, problem solving, discovery, collaboration, and exploration bring children and adults together to learn and grow.

Amazeum Mission: To engage the imagination of children and their families through interactive exhibits, programs, and resources while creating an excitement for lifelong learning and the enrichment of lives.

Through experiences with the Amazeum, individuals and the community are engaged in building relationships and developing identities as creative, curious, and innovative shapers for the region. Learning at the Amazeum is an active, playful exploration that inspires curiosity. It is rooted in inquiry-based discovery and involves an element of risk. Hands-on learning opportunities allow guests to exercise critical thinking in the context of play.

The Amazeum facility includes approximately 50,000 square feet of indoor space and one acre of outdoor exhibition and activity space. The museum is located at the intersection of Museum Way and J Street in Bentonville, AR.

Position Summary

The Amazeum is expanding our development team to include an annual donor focus. Reporting to the Chief of Philanthropy (CPO), the Annual Giving Manager will play an active role in growing donor engagement and front-line fundraising while contributing to the Amazeum development team, consultants, Board members and campaign cabinet in their work. The Annual Giving Manager will be responsible for cultivating, stewarding, and soliciting donors and prospects through targeted appeals/campaigns, individual in-person and virtual meetings/contacts and electronic and written appeals.

In conjunction with development leadership, the Annual Giving Manager will develop and execute an annual giving solicitation plan for the fiscal year that includes fundraising strategies to launch various giving opportunities.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent
3+ years’ experience in fundraising or related field
1+ year experience using donor databases or similar CRM products (Tessitura, Raiser's Edge, DonorPerfect, etc.)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task and think critically
Ability to work independently, proactively and with initiative
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, Google Workspace

Physical Requirements

Must be able to move a minimum of 25 pounds to a height of at least three feet for materials storage and preparation as appropriate for the demands of the office
Ability to read, work at a computer, and process information.

Preferred Skills:

BS or BA from an accredited college or university
Previous non-profit experience
Goal-oriented and results-driven with an entrepreneurial approach to fundraising
Superior interpersonal skills, with the ability to align donors’ interests to the mission of the Amazeum.
Open and collaborative work style, conducive to effective team work.
Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
