Hiring pay range: Full grade:	$135,000 - $150,000 Grade 35 Range: $98,415 - $157,465
Benefits:	100% Paid by the employer: medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, LTD. 403(b) Retirement matched at 5%; increasing to 10% over time, 100% immediate vesting. Position Overview:

As the Director of Social Impact Investing at Seattle Foundation, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and scaling our impact investing efforts. This role is ideal for an innovative and charismatic leader who is passionate about addressing racialized inequities by ensuring equitable access to catalytic capital for community-driven development and business growth. You will have the opportunity to expand and execute a robust impact investing strategy, leveraging our existing partnerships, assets, networks, and reputation to create systems change in our community. The Role is the newest edition to the existing Finance and Operations department, which consists of Accounting, Budget & Costing, Gifts & Grants, Investments, IT, and IT Modernization.

Primary Responsibilities:

Shape and Scale Seattle Foundation Impact Investment efforts:

Strategy Development: Collaborate with the Senior Leadership team to develop a comprehensive impact investing strategy that aligns with our mission and focuses on addressing racialized inequities through community-driven development and collective community wealth creation. Provide educational opportunities for board and staff on impact topics and investments.
Portfolio Management: Oversee the selection, management, and monitoring of impact investments, ensuring they meet dual impacts, equity and justice outcomes while achieving financial return targets. Source pipeline of opportunities and manage closing and funding processes.
Risk Management: Assess and manage the risks associated with impact investments, implementing mitigation strategies as needed. Coordinate independent due diligence to determine risk return potential both social and financial.
Impact Measurement: Develop and implement robust impact measurement and reporting systems to track the social and financial performance of our impact investments. Establish and communicate progress and key learnings. Coordinate with communications team to ensure timely updates on impact investing activities.

Establish strong external relationships and partnerships:

Fundholder Engagement: Collaborate with Philanthropic Advisors to educate and engage our fundholders in impact investing opportunities, providing them with tailored options that align with their philanthropic goals.
Partnership Building: Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with local organizations, investors, and stakeholders to leverage resources and maximize impact. Secure and promote investments.
Advocacy and Thought Leadership: Track industry trends, resources, and published research. Serve as a thought leader in the field of impact investing and racial equity, advocating for innovative solutions and sharing insights with the broader community. Represent Seattle Foundation externally.

Collaborate with the Team:

Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely and effectively with the philanthropic services and impact and learning departments.
Organization Design: Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer to design the organizational structure to drive system change efficiently and effectively through social impact investing.
External Relationship Management: Maintain and establish external partnerships and vendor agreements necessary to support impact investment work across the portfolio.

Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field; Master's degree a plus.
High proficiency in impact investing frameworks, governance, and industry best practices. A minimum of 7 years of experience in impact investing or equivalent experience, with a track record of success.
Deep knowledge of racial equity issues and a demonstrated commitment to addressing through equitable investments and inclusive financial tools.
Strong financial acumen and experience managing investment portfolios from sourcing to exit.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and educate a variety of stakeholders.
Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans. Strong operational execution skills (planning, project management). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and judgment skills.
Knowledge of real estate, affordable housing and related fields.
Experience working in a CDFI / banking with an understanding of lending or investments preferred.
Strong leadership and team-building skills.
Passion for philanthropy and community impact.
