Reports to: Operations Manager Salary Grade:

Summary: Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Child/Parenting Specialist provides trauma-informed evidence-based parenting interventions to participants.

Duties:

Promotes, mentors, and teaches parenting skills.
Assists the parents to learn and be confident in their parenting skills.
Provides supervision and parenting education.
Gives support to parents in their parenting obligations using a family-centered and strength-based approach.
Assists parents develop age-appropriate communication with the child(ren)
Teaching parents, the tools and techniques for effective communication

Provide hands-on assistance and support for parents based on the Nurturing Program and Parent Education both on-site and in-home to promote parenting abilities.

Assist parents in the Residential facility with their infants and other children.
Provide updates to the clinical team related to all Child Welfare-involved families.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field, Master’s strongly preferred.
Knowledge of and experience in working with children.
Two years of case management experience
Driver’s license, safe driving record, and proof of vehicle insurance.

Ability to work effectively with diverse people and in a multicultural setting
Good written and verbal skills
Good organizational skills and ability to meet specified deadlines
Attention to detail
Computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, and other applications.

Working Conditions: Work hours:Departmental business hours with the possibility of evenings and weekends as necessary.
