Kendal at Oberlin's Hospitality Services Department is currently seeking a Laundry Operator for a full-time, 40 hours per week position. This is a Sunday thru Thursday, 6:30a to 3:00p, with rotating holidays schedule. The Laundry Operator is responsible for maintaining clean linens throughout the Community. This includes collecting soiled linens, sorts soiled linens, washes soiled linens using industrial equipment, dryers clean linens using industrial equipment, folding and stocking clean linens, delivers clean linens and maintaining Health Center linen par-levels. This also includes personal clothing of Health Center Residents and maintaining a clean laundry room and cleaning dryer vents daily.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Good reading skills and the ability to keep accurate records.
- Capable of learning all of the required procedures used in the operation of the laundry.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to operate large machines with the utmost safety.
- Ability to work well with co-workers
- Good physical and mental health.
- Position will stand and/or walk most of the day.
- Must be physically able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull heavy weight equipment and linens, as well as climb, bend, stoop, crawl, etc., with no more than minor correctable deficiencies in hearing or sight
