OUR STORY
- THE CHICAGO CUBS FRANCHISE is a charter member of Major League Baseball’s National League. Since 1876, the team has won the National League pennant 17 times and was the first team to win back-to-back World Series titles in the 1907 and 1908 seasons. In 2016, the Chicago Cubs made history again when the team won its first World Series in 108 years, ending the longest championship drought in North American sports. Known for its ivy-covered outfield walls, hand-operated scoreboard and famous Marquee sign, iconic Wrigley Field has been the home of the Chicago Cubs since 1916, making it the second oldest ballpark in Major League Baseball.
HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE:
Raffle Ambassadors play a vital role in fundraising for Cubs Charities while delivering best-in-class fan experiences to guests of Wrigley Field. The ideal candidate will have a desire to give back, be energetic, engaging, passionate, personable, proactive, and welcoming. This position will sell 50/50 (Split the Pot) Raffle tickets to benefit Cubs Charities while creating memorable moments for loyal donors and Cubs fans. Success will be measured via evaluations of Raffle Supervisors, sales revenue, peer and guest feedback and secret shops.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
- Effectively communicate and sell 50/50 raffle tickets to patrons in and around Wrigley Field during home games
- Represent and market the Cubs Charities brand through positive and enthusiastic sales techniques and fan interaction
- Resolve guest concerns and special requests within the framework provided via the Seasonal Associate Handbook and training, while upholding the “Wrigley Field Fan Code of Conduct”
- Promote a safe and enjoyable experience, identify and report inappropriate behavior, safety risks or medical situations through functional hierarchy
- Use knowledge of Cubs Charities, Wrigley Field and Cubs history to engage fans and guests to deliver exceptional service
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed and as directed by Raffle Supervisors
- Deliver best-in-class service through all touch points via the Cubs service brand, “Marquee Moments”
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- Demonstrated sales skills
- Demonstrated ability to create unique personal interactions
- Strong verbal and communication skills
- Ability to work minimum number of games per season and non-standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to perform the following physical tasks: bend, squat, kneel, climb flights of stairs, walk on uneven ground, walk/run up and down ramps, walk and stand for extended periods of time
- High school diploma or GED
- 18 years or older by Opening Day 2025
WHAT SETS YOU APART:
- At least one year of experience working as an ambassador at Wrigley Field, or equivalent experience
- Experience using tablet devices and point of sale software
- An enthusiastic personality exuding a positive attitude that demonstrates initiative, approachability and friendliness
- A passion for Cubs Charities, Wrigley Field and its unique history
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a team setting
- Ability to work under stress
- Responds well to coaching and feedback
Interview & Hiring Timeline: interviews with qualified candidates are anticipated to take place beginning in February and monthly throughout the summer.
