Purpose of the Position
The Living Water Coordinator will report to the Honduras Country Director and will provide strategic direction to implement the strategy of Water Mission's global evangelism and discipleship program in Honduras. This role will bear witness to Christ and His kingdom by supporting and guiding spiritual formation activities for staff and other entities involved in ministry. This full-time position will be based in Water Mission's office in El Progreso, Yoro- Honduras. This position will manage the Living Water Officers in all country offices in Water Mission Honduras.
Main Responsibilities of the Position:
Leadership:
• Be a model of servant leadership in the workplace.
• Promote and fulfill the Mission and Vision of Water Mission through words, actions, and initiatives.
• As a dotted line and in coordination with the strategic team, this position will provide leadership and development to support continuing teaching that improves individual performance and organizational capacity.
• Work with staff to foster an environment of honoring God as we share the gospel of Jesus Christ through word and deed.
• Consult with peer management and senior leaders to successfully align departmental resources and priorities in Water Mission to accomplish this.
Evangelism and Discipleship Program Strategy and Implementation:
• In coordination with the Living Water Director, develop the overall evangelism and discipleship strategy and provide supervision, direction, guidance, and coordination to ensure it is executed effectively.
• Work with the Country Director and department managers in the development of annual work plans and budgets for the country program.
• Ensure that the Honduras program partners effectively in the field with local churches.
• Develop and recommend tools and strategies for the spiritual development of staff in the country office.
Support to the Ministry:
• Act as spokesperson for Water Mission when assigned by the Country Director, and as needed, representing the ministry to other organizations and the general public, in cooperation with other department leaders.
• Liaise and coordinate with external resources to advise, review, and evaluate field activities and content on sound practices, and metrics, related to the Living Water Program.
• Participate in related conferences, workshops, and events to learn about and contribute to sound practices in the field.
Specific Functions of the Position:
• Under the direction of the Country Director, he/she will work on strategies for mobilizing the church and community for spiritual and physical transformation.
• Assess the presence of local churches (Christian congregations) of sound doctrine in communities and develop a strategy to mobilize stakeholders to play a key role in community programs.
• Co-lead project design, review project objectives, and create a logical framework work matrix (activities, processes, key actions, goals, outcomes, and impact) for program alignment with evangelism programming.
• Complete in due course a weekly work plan and a monthly report detailing the results of living water activities reviewed and approved by their line manager.
• Ensure that all Water Mission quality standards are followed for all Living Water activities.
• Direct visits with field staff in their work areas to assess spiritual areas.
• Assist the HR department in the hiring process by conducting Ministry Interviews, and evaluation of spiritual references.
• Prepare, coordinate, and lead meetings, spiritual retreats, and devotionals with staff, to share God's word and cultivate authentic Christian community among staff.
• Collaborate with strategic partners to learn and share experiences of integral mission projects and work with local churches.
• Train and facilitate training sessions for pastors and church leaders
• Organize and implement other activities aimed at sharing the gospel in communities, such as fellowship, outdoor crusades, film screenings, and conducting prayers in communities, hospitals, or schools.
• Support the training of WASH trainers for communities and schools from a Christian worldview.
• Staff fellowship coordination as a senior leader.
• Provide pastoral care, encourage and mobilize support for staff going through difficult times at work or home.
• Take care of and be responsible for the tools and equipment assigned to them for their work.
• Initiate partner relationships with other ministry partners to help equip and empower churches and communities.
• Lead the team by being intentional in sharing the Gospel through program trainings, and meetings as well as during community events.
• Carry out continuous monitoring to support the sustainability of the Living Water projects.
• Prepare quarterly reports, monthly reports, project-specific reports, donor reports, and most significant stories relevant to the Evangelism and Discipleship program.
• Ensure capacity building for staff, as well as for external stakeholders in Church and Community Mobilization, to strengthen their commitment to integral mission.
• Execute other functions as necessary for successful program implementation.
Job Requirements:
1. University Study. Bachelor’s degree in theology, Social Work, Sociology, Anthropology or bachelor’s degree in business administration or related.
2. 2 to 3 years of management professional experience, preferably in the theological area.
3. English language Management Intermediate Level.
4. Demonstrable experience in similar institutions or positions.
5. Travel for work reasons to the different local offices in Water Mission Honduras
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with good public speaking skills.
8. Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
9. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
10. Good photography and documentation skills.
11. Strong interpersonal skills and a high level of integrity.
