Our client, Royal Voluntary Service (RVS), is a leading UK charity managing one of the largest networks of volunteers across the country to deliver essential healthcare, homelessness, and food security services. RVS is embarking on an exciting digital transformation and hiring their first-ever tech team out of South Africa in their 80-year history.
We are seeking a mid-level Quality Assurance Engineer to join RVS’s technology team. You’ll play a critical role in developing stable, scalable platforms that empower volunteers to continue their life-changing work. You will help enforce best practices in coding, automation, and infrastructure management, thus driving faster, more reliable software releases. This role reports to the IT Service Delivery Manager.

What You Will Be Doing
- Plan & Execute Tests: Develop and execute test plans, including functional, integration, regression, and performance tests.
- Test Automation: Create and maintain automated test scripts (front-end, back-end, API) using tools like Selenium or Cypress.
- CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Azure Pipelines) and ensure reliable, continuous testing.
- Collaboration & Defect Management: Collaborate with DevOps, developers, and product teams to identify requirements, manage defects, and improve testing processes.
- Agile Participation & Best Practices: Participate in Agile ceremonies, maintain test environments, and contribute to ongoing QA best practices.
RequirementsOur Ideal Candidate Has :
- 3-5 years of software QA experience, including automated testing.
- Hands-on experience with Selenium, Cypress, or similar test automation frameworks.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure Pipelines) and integrating automated tests into build/deployment workflows.
- Proficiency in a programming language (Java, Python, or JavaScript) and version control (Git).
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs and API testing tools (e.g., Postman).
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail.
