Position Summary

This Family Assistance Services Worker is responsible for receiving written referrals, conduct in-home visits with families and children referred by Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). Assists in the development of service plans and coordinates services with the DHHS referring worker.

Service Area: Ottawa County

Hourly Wage: $16.25-$19.07

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities

Accepts DHHS referrals
Provides In-home visits to children and parents
Schedules and provides supervised parenting time visits
Case consultation and face to face client contact
Transports for various appointments as needed
Completes necessary documentation and follow ups
Participates in sessions, reviews and meetings
Provides 24-hours a day, 7 days a week availability to clients

Ability to forge a mutually-respectful partnership with individuals and families in which they are helped to gain the skills and confidence to address issues and problems
Knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to families and children 0-18
Knowledge of brief, solution focused therapy and strength based solution focused intervention strategies
Knowledge of local resources

Recommended Employment Qualifications

Education:

A minimum of a High School diploma with two-years of specific prior experience working with families is required.
Bachelor’s Degree in social work, sociology, psychology, family ecology, consumer/community services, family studies, family and/or child development, guidance/school counseling, counseling psychology or a related area is preferred.

Experience:

A minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with multi problem children and families is required.

none required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
