The Village of Shorewood YMCA is looking for a relentless leader to drive our mission of youth development and social responsibility to new heights. As the Youth and Family Manager, you serve as the heartbeat of our community programming, transforming ordinary days into extraordinary opportunities for children and families to belong and become. You will take assist the Youth & Family Director in designing and implementing high-quality experiences, from the high-energy environment of Summer Day Camp to the milestone celebrations of birthday parties and youth special events. POSITION SUMMARY:
Supports, develops, organizes and implements high quality youth programming for the Youth and Family Department, including, but not limited to: Summer Day Camp; Kids Corner Services; Pre-School Programs; Birthday Parties; Youth/Teen Programming; and Youth/Family Special Events.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- Two to three years child care experience preferred.
- Minimum age of 21.
- Child Abuse Prevention, CPR, Blood Borne Pathogens, Safety, First Aid and AED certifications required within 30 days of employment.
- Working knowledge of excel is preferred.

Essential Functions
- Manages, directs and coordinates youth and family related programs. Programs include, but are not limited to, summer day camp, kids corner services, pre-school programs, birthday parties, youth/teen programming, family nights and special events. Ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities.
- Expands programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- Assists in the recruitment, hiring, training, developing, scheduling and directing personnel (part-time and seasonal) and volunteers as needed. Assists in Reviewing and evaluating staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Assists Youth and Family Director in developing and managing the budgets related to primary responsibility areas. Ensures programs operate within budget and that program fees are collected. Takes appropriate action to correct variances.
- Assures compliance with the state and local regulations as they relate to program areas. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures are followed.
- Assists Youth and Family Director in compiling statistics. Monitors, evaluates and audits effectiveness and participation in the program.
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of youth and family program information, including timely and accurate submissions to the marketing team. May organize and schedule program registrations, distribute fliers and/or attend community expos.
- Communicates well with others. Ability to interact with the children attending the programs, their parents and/or guardians, along with the staff team responsible for the children in their programs.
- Ensures all incident reports, reportable condition and parent communication forms are filled out accurately and submitted to the respective Director in a timely manner, when applicable.
- Maintains open communication with the Youth and Family Director and off-site partners.
- Supports curriculum development for camp and monitors daily implementation to maintain program standards.
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
- Assists in YMCA fundraising activities and special events.
- Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
- Serves as Leader on Duty (LOD) as assigned.
- Accepts other duties as deemed appropriate within the scope of this job description.
- Highly flexible schedule with varying hours including working evenings and weekends.
