Urgent Job Posting: Distribution Roles Needed for Typhoon Gezani Relief with World Central Kitchen!
World Central Kitchen (WCK) is urgently seeking a dedicated team of local Fixers and Coordinators to support Tropical Cyclone Gezani relief efforts in Madagascar. This critical operation will begin as soon as February 22, 2026, and may last anywhere from two (2) to four (4) weeks, depending on the relief needs.
Tropical Cyclone Gezani struck eastern Madagascar on February 11, making landfall near the major port city of Toamasina with extremely violent winds and heavy rain. The storm reached Category 4 strength.
Scope of Work:
- Role: Distribution and Logistics Coordinator Roles
- Start Date: Immediate, starting as soon as Feb 22, 2026
- Duration: 2 - 4 weeks
- Location: Various locations in Madagascar affected by Typhoon Gezani, focused on Toamasina
- Compensation: Day rates based on experience and role
Roles Urgently Needed:
- Delivery Field Team Members
- Logistics Coordinators
- Fleet Coordinators
Duties Could Include:
- Deploy into disaster affected communities to lead and support emergency meal distribution and logistics operations.
- Manage and coordinate the efficient and safe transport, staging, and delivery of meals prepared by the culinary team and partner kitchens.
- Set up and operate temporary meal distribution sites in challenging field environments.
- Collaborate with WCK teams, local partners, and volunteers to scale and optimize the meal delivery network.
- Maintain WCK’s standards for food safety and sanitation during all phases of transport and distribution.
- Train and mentor local partners on distribution flow, meal tracking, and proper handling of prepared meals and shelf-stable food.
- Assist with inventory management, route planning, and logistics documentation as needed.
- Provide on-site support to ensure the quality and integrity of delivered meals.
Duration: Contract term positions with the opportunity for renewal, offering a unique chance to support WCK's responses.
Rates: Daily contract rates are based on experience and location; contract rates are included only when on rotation or activation.
Mandatory Requirement: Must be already based and located in Madagascar with working authorization. Bilingual fluency is preferred - French/Malagasy and English.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Previous disaster or community food response experience
