Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows Community Services is seeking a friendly,
compassionate, and community-oriented individual to join our team as a Program
Support Worker for our seniors’ programs.
In
this engaging role, you will work directly with groups of older adults,
planning and leading dynamic social, emotional, physical, and recreational
sessions twice a week. You'll bring energy, creativity, and a warm, welcoming
presence to each gathering; ensuring that every activity is meaningful and
shaped by the voices and interests of the participants.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
·Exceptional
interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster trust and
connection with older adults.
·Proven
experience in planning, coordinating, and facilitating group programs that
promote holistic well-being.
·Demonstrated
ability to recruit, engage, and support volunteers in a collaborative
environment.
·Creative
and flexible approach to program delivery, responsive to participant interests
and evolving needs.
·Proficient
in evaluating program outcomes through data collection, feedback tools, and
continuous improvement strategies.
·Deep
understanding of and sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and
needs of seniors.
QUALIFICATIONS
EducationandExperience:
·High School diploma along with a relevant certificate in the social service
field.
·Minimum two
(2) years of recent work-related experience working with vulnerable seniors, including
experience in volunteer recruitment, orientation, and retention.
Additional Requirements:
· Clear Criminal Record
Check is required.
· Current First Aid and CPR
Certificate.
· Valid and unrestricted
Class 5 BC Driver’s License with access to a safe and reliable vehicle.
·Clear Driver’s Abstract (provided
annually).
· Position requires Union
Membership.
Shift/Schedule/Hoursperweek:14 hours per week; Group activities are scheduled on Mondays and Tuesdays,
remaining hours are flexible; remaining hours are flexible.
Expected Start Date: ASAP
Wage/Salary: $27.54
