An established NGO is
looking for a proactive, detail -oriented HR Officer to join their expanding
ministry. This is a
half -day role (09h00 – 13h00), 3 days per week. The role requires
regular travel to schools and baby homes across Johannesburg and surrounding
areas to support staff and ministry operations. <\/span><\/span>This role goes beyond traditional HR administration — it is an

The HR
Officer will play a pivotal role in Employment Equity, payroll coordination,
employee relations, recruitment, and HR operations, while upholding Christian

Drive and manage all Employment
Equity (EE) responsibilities<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Assist with the
development, implementation, and monitoring of EE Plans<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Track workforce
demographics and transformation progress<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Collect, analyse, and
maintain accurate EE data<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Prepare and submit EE
reports (EEA2 and EEA4)<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Support diversity and
inclusion initiatives aligned with ministry values<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Ensure recruitment and
promotion practices align with EE objectives<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Advise management on
fair and equitable representation practices<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Manage all Department
of Employment and Labour (DoEL) audits and correspondence<\/span><\/span>
<\/li><\/ul>Payroll & HR Administration<\/span><\/span>
<\/p>
Coordinate monthly
payroll inputs and processes<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Track employee
attendance, overtime, and leave balances<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Maintain and update
employee records (personal details, salaries, banking details, contracts)<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Administer employee
benefits and leave processes<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Monitor foreign
national permits and assist with contract renewals<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Ensure HR documentation
is accurate, up to date, and POPIA compliant<\/span><\/span>
<\/li><\/ul>Employee Relations & Pastoral Support<\/span><\/span>
<\/p>
Assist in handling
workplace conflicts, grievances, and disciplinary matters<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Provide guidance and
support to managers on employee -related issues<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Ensure consistent
application of HR policies and fair treatment<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Support employee
wellbeing initiatives with sensitivity and care<\/span><\/span>
<\/li><\/ul>Recruitment, Onboarding & Offboarding<\/span><\/span>
<\/p>
Support managers
throughout the recruitment process<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Coordinate onboarding
and ensure all documentation is completed and signed<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Facilitate a welcoming
and values -aligned induction process<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Assist with employee
exit processes in line with labour legislation and internal policy<\/span><\/span>
<\/li><\/ul>Training & Development<\/span><\/span>
<\/p>
Drive discussions and
administration around Mandatory and Discretionary Grants<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Coordinate and support
staff training and development initiatives<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Facilitate training
sessions where required<\/span><\/span>

Ensure standardisation
of HR policies and procedures across all ministry units<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Support communication
of salary increases, bonuses, and employee benefits<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Coordinate staff
meetings, company events, and engagement initiatives<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Contribute to building
a Christ -centred, people -first organisational culture<\/span><\/span>

Requirements<\/h3>
<\/p>
Relevant HR
qualification (Diploma or Degree)<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Minimum 3–5 years’
experience in an HR generalist or HR officer role<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Strong knowledge of South
African labour legislation and Employment Equity<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Experience with payroll
coordination and HR administration<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Valid driver’s licence
and own reliable vehicle (essential)<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Willingness to travel
regularly to schools and baby homes<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Strong organisational,
communication, and interpersonal skills<\/span><\/span>
