Starlight’s mission is to brighten the lives of seriously ill children, young people and their families. Our team is a wonderful community of positive, committed people who share Starlight’s values and love to help others.
Starlight Moments is our program that supports families with a child in palliative care. We provide tailored, ongoing moments of positive distraction to all members of the family.
We are looking for a very special to person to help support the Starlight Moments Team with the large number of activities and special occasions the program celebrates. We are seeking support
3-5 days per week, assisting with researching, purchasing and sending gifts, surprises and other items to families in the Moments Program.
Tasks will include: - liaising with Moments team members
- thinking creatively about presents and items to suit each individual
- confidently asking for donated and discounted items
- purchasing items and reconciling invoices/receipts
- logging any donations and keeping accurate records
- arranging timely delivery of gifts
- other admin tasks as required
What skills do we look for? - Organisational skills with great attention to detail
- Great communication skills, computer literacy, and phone manner
- Enthusiasm and willingness to help
- Positivity, emotional intelligence and strong professional boundaries.
- Eager to volunteer in person in our lovely Brisbane Office (South Bank), 3-5 days a week.
What’s the time commitment? - We are looking for someone who can volunteer 3-5 days per week (approximately 4-7 hours in day).
