The Donor Relations Coordinator plays a key role in strengthening relationships with donors by ensuring, timely accurate and meaningful stewardship. This position manages donor communications, gift processing, acknowledgements, database integrity, and engagement efforts to enhance donor retention and satisfaction. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about building relationships that advance the organization’s mission. This role will also assist the Donor and Community Engagement Manager with corporate groups who volunteer at the shelter. He/she will assist corporate groups and help to ensure they have a positive and meaningful experience at the shelter.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare and send timely gift acknowledgements and tax receipts
• Coordinate personalized stewardship communications and recognition efforts
• Assist in developing donor impact reports, newsletters, and updates
• Support donor appreciation events and engagement opportunities
• Process and record donations accurately in the donor database
• Maintain and update donor records to ensure data integrity
• Generate reports for fundraising analysis and leadership review
• Reconcile donations with accounting department records
• Serve as a point of contact for donor inquiries
• Support cultivation strategies for individual, corporate and foundation donors
• Assist with prospect research and donor segmentation
• Track pledges and follow up as needed
• Provide support for fundraising campaigns and initiatives
• Maintain confidentiality of donor information
• Will help set up and clean up for corporate group visits
• Help to greet and give tours to corporate groups as needed
• Help provide a positive experience for corporate groups
• Assist with group volunteer communications and follow up
• Helps manage group volunteer database
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ideal but not required: ADRP Association of Donor Relations Professionals.
• Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite
• Must be highly organized who is committed to animal welfare and able to get along well with others and project positive attitude and image.
• Other skills required: Minimum one year in related experience in fundraising and donor solicitation

This is a full time position with a starting hourly rate of $20.
