We are seeking a Temporary Full-Time Accounting Assistant to provide bookkeeping and administrative support to the Finance team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have past experience working in accounting with a high-level of accuracy, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
This is a Hybrid, full-time, temporary-to-permanent role.
ORGANIZATION: Education Nonprofit
LOCATION: New York City Midtown (3 days in Office)
POSITION TITLE: Accounting Assistant
SCHEDULE: 30-40 hours/week Hybrid
DURATION: Temporary to permanent
Pay- $27/hr - $30/hr
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3+ years of finance/accounting experience - nonprofit support preferred
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate clearly
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize a high volume of tasks with a high-level of accuracy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications
- Experience using QuickBooks required
How You Will Spend Your Day:
- Process accounts payable by entering bills, check requests, and expense reimbursements into the QuickBooks accounting system
- Create and update expense and budget reports for program managers and grants
- Additional accounting responsibilities as required
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable,
- Prepare filings: sales tax filing, 1099 filings
- Prepare budget reports
- Will use the following systems: QuickBooks Desktop, Google Suite, and Excel
