A large public-sector organization is seeking a Talent Operations Manager to lead and strengthen pre-boarding and onboarding operations for a high-volume, decentralized workforce. This role reports to senior HR leadership and combines hands-on execution with people leadership to ensure a consistent, high-quality new-hire experience.
The Manager will directly oversee a Talent Operations Specialist and work closely with an HR Generalist supporting onboarding activities. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys improving processes while remaining actively involved in day-to-day operations.
City of Boston residency is required. Candidates must live in a Boston zip code.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage end-to-end pre-boarding and onboarding processes
Ensure consistency, compliance, and a strong candidate experience across departments
Directly manage and coach a Talent Operations Specialist
Partner with HR leadership and onboarding support staff to drive process improvements
Track onboarding activity, metrics, and documentation
Support HR systems and workflows (Workday/ADP preferred)
Qualifications
6+ years of experience in Talent Acquisition, HR Operations, or related HR functions
Prior experience leading or supporting onboarding operations
Workday and/or ADP experience preferred
Nonprofit or public-sector experience a plus
Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance strategy and execution
