DescriptionJob Purpose:
- The Community Engagement & Events Manager at Ronald McDonald House Washington DC will play a pivotal role in fostering community relationships and organizing impactful events that support the mission of the organization. This position is responsible for developing and executing strategic plans to engage the community, enhance public awareness, and drive participation in events that benefit families in need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive community engagement strategies to build and maintain strong relationships with local organizations, businesses, and community leaders.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of events, including fundraising events, community outreach programs, and volunteer activities, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams to create promotional materials and communication plans to effectively market events and community initiatives.
- Identify and secure sponsorships and partnerships that enhance the reach and impact of events and community programs.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of community engagement and event initiatives, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
- Manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial guidelines.
- Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers and staff involved in event planning and execution.
- Serve as a representative of Ronald McDonald House Washington DC community meetings, events, and other public forums to promote the organization’s mission and initiatives.
- Stay informed about trends and best practices in community engagement and event management to continuously enhance the organization’s efforts.
QualificationsRequired Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in event planning, community engagement, or a related field.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and executing large-scale events.
- Experience working with nonprofit organizations or community-based programs is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with diverse audiences.
