Job Title: Commercial Credit Associate
Location: San Juan, Puerto Rico

About: Parliament Capital Management is an emerging and diverse fund manager based in San Juan, Puerto Rico, with a focus on direct lending and other credit opportunities in underserved, mostly Hispanic/minority markets, in the US, Puerto Rico, and the USVI.
We are seeking an Associate for the Portfolio Management team to assist in the analysis, underwriting, due diligence, and closing of debt investments and commercial loans, such as C&I, CRE, and asset-based, among others. We look for individuals with a highly motivated professional style, an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, strong attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze credit/financial information and perform commercial loan underwriting.
- Structure complex loan terms and conditions.
- Present opportunities to the Credit Committee and draft Investment Memos.
- Lead the relationship and negotiations with prospective and existing clients.
- In charge of the credit and legal due diligence, closing process, and execution of transactions.
- Evaluate potential risks that can affect the investments and portfolios.
- Collaborate with Asset Management regarding the monitoring of the positions assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting with +5 years of experience in Commercial Underwriting and Credit Analysis, Financial Analysis, Accounting, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, or Consulting.
- Excellent technical skills utilizing MS Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Self-starter with strong initiative.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish are a must.
- Great organization and prioritization skills.
- Utmost attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
- Good judgment, character, ethics, and integrity.
Must-haves:
- Commercial loan underwriting experience, including managing the loan closing process and all related legal documentation.
