About the RoleÂ
As an In-Home Support Specialist, you’ll provide individualized, person-centered support to adults with ID/DD living independently within their local community. This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, reliable, and values building strong, respectful relationships.Â
You’ll support individuals with daily living skills, community engagement, and goal-based activities, helping people thrive in their homes while promoting independence and inclusion.Â
Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Provide direct, person-centered support in individuals’ homes and community settingsÂ
- Support daily living skills such as routines, household tasks, medical appointments and community participationÂ
- Assist individuals in working toward personal goals outlined in their Individual Support Plans (ISPs)Â
- Monitor health, safety, and overall well-being, reporting concerns as neededÂ
- Complete timely and accurate documentation in agency systemsÂ
- Communicate and collaborate with supervisors, families, and other service providersÂ
- Respond appropriately to incidents and follow agency and DDS protocolsÂ

- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferredÂ
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skillsÂ
- Ability to work independently while remaining connected to a supportive teamÂ
- Commitment to person-centered, and culturally responsive practicesÂ
RequirementsÂ
- High school diploma or equivalent  (bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred)Â
- Experience in human services or community-based supports preferredÂ
- Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License and reliable transportation Â
- Ability to work in community and home-based settingsÂ
- CPR/First Aid certification  (training provided)Â
- Proficiency with basic technology and electronic documentation systemsÂ
