Senior Social Worker Job Description
The Senior Social Worker (SSW) role involves managing complex cases, overseeing the development and implementation of individual care plans, and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary professionals and community partners. The SSW also plays a key role in strengthening practice standards through mentorship, supervision, and capacity building for junior staff and volunteers.
Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments, providing direct client intervention, coordinating services across agencies, offering professional supervision and guidance to junior staff and volunteers, and contributing to service development, practice improvement, and policy enhancement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct comprehensive needs and risk assessments for complex and high-risk cases.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care and intervention plans.
- Provide clinical supervision and guidance to junior staffs on case management and interventions.
- Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of case management to beneficiaries.
- Review and approve case assessments and outcome plans.
- Prepare detailed case notes, reports, and social reports.
- Lead case conferences and other case-related discussions.
- Provide home visit volunteer training.
- Carry out any other ad-hoc duties by management to support the organisation's goals and objectives.
Requirements
- Degree and / or Master in Social Work and / or Counselling preferably
- Registered with the Singapore Association of Social Workers for Social Workers or Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC).
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in a communities environment preferably
- Bilingual and ability to communicate in local dialects preferably
