Location: 1257 Ogden Avenue
Summary:
The team leader is responsible forindividualneedsassessmentanddevelopingshort and long term goals. The Youth Worker is also responsible for the overall planning and monitoring of the Youth Council and Participant recruitment.
Responsibilities:
- Conductinitialneedsassessment,intakeandorientationofnew participants.
- Createshort- and long-termgoalsforparticipantsbasedontheneedsassessment.
- Maintain teen participant foldersand application.
- DevelopandimplementlessonplansforYouthCouncilandyouthleadershipactivitiesand specialinitiatives.
- Collect participant's report cards to monitor their educational progress and keep trackof youth academiclife.
- Monitorandtrackparticipantattendanceandconductoutreachtosupport retention.
- Assist with the recruitment of teen participants.
- Co-facilitate ParentMeetings
- Responsible for keeping the Program Director and Assistant Director informed ofany changes and abnormalities that mayoccur.
- Submitweekly reportstotheProgramDirectorandAssistantDirectoronatimelybasis.
- Attend all program staff meetings, trainings, and specialevents.
- Assist other staff whenneeded.
- Other duties asassigned.
Salary: $18 - $19 per hour or $32,760 or $34,580 annually.
Qualifications:
- MinimumofaHighSchoolDiploma/GED;orworkingtowardsanAAorBAdegree preferred.
- 2 years Youth Workerexperience.
- Experiencefacilitatingworkshopsandprovidingoneononepeermediationpreferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively withteams.
- Demonstratedabilitytoworkwithfamilieswhofaceexceptionalchallenges.
- Excellentsocialskillsdemonstrativeofempathyandsupport.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a part-time position. Work hours are as follows: Monday-Friday 6pm-10pm some Saturdays 12am-5pm. Monday - Friday 6pm- l lpm July - August.
