Advocates is seeking a Mentor (DSP/1:1 support staff) to support a bright and active man with a developmental disability. He is looking for a Mentor to assist him with working on his goals in his community.
Goals include:
• Health and fitness - walking, making healthy food choices, enjoying nature, etc.
• Social skills - making community connections and friendships.
• Participating in a hobby, club, or class of interest – visiting Lowe’s, Thrifty Shopper, and antiquing.
Seeking a DSP who is reliable, enthusiastic, creative, and active. Related experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred but not required. Please respond with resume or summary of experience.
Candidate must possess a keen sense of attention to detail, especially when electronically logging each day's time, mileage, and service documentation. DSP must have a valid email address.
Hours and days of work
Flexible weekdays, 6 hours per week (between 10 AM - 5 PM)
Full-time opportunities may be available.
Pay rate: $21.30 per hour when providing direct support. The hourly rate for indirect/training is $16.00 per hour.
Location: Hamilton, NY
