Position Summary
KIND seeks a Technology Operations and Compliance Manager to oversee the operational and strategic management of KIND’s IT environment, serving as a key partner to leadership across a 400+ person international organization. This role will have hands-on technical oversight of infrastructure, security, and compliance programs and requires significant project management capability. Acting as a cross-functional bridge between Technology and Office Operations, the position ensures systems are secure, scalable, and aligned with organizational goals. The ideal candidate brings broad technical experience, demonstrated adaptability, and the ability to manage complex initiatives while guiding cybersecurity response and continuous operational improvement.
This opportunity is ideal for a mid-career IT professional with approximately five or more years of diverse experience who thrives as a flexible generalist and can pivot across complex, cross-functional technology initiatives.
This is a remote position based from any location in the U.S.

Essentia Functions
- Assumes ownership of both the day-to-day management and strategic advancement of KIND’s IT Operations across a 400+ person, multi-site international organization.
- Provides end-to-end leadership of complex technology initiatives, combining structured project management practices with hands-on technical execution to ensure successful delivery across diverse IT domains.
- Manages cybersecurity operations & annual security trainings, serving as primary internal lead on security incidents.
- Oversees technology compliance and governance functions utilizing Microsoft Purview, recommending and implementing configuration in partnership with internal stakeholders.
- Partners closely with the Director of IT Operations to design and implement technology solutions that enhance organizational effectiveness and support client services.
- Collaborates cross-functionally with Office Operations to provide strategic context & guidance on how technology enables operational success and organizational goals.
- Oversees endpoint and device management across the organization’s technology environment, including computers, mobile devices, networking, and conferencing equipment.
- Identifies, configures, and maintains cloud infrastructure solutions including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions to support performance, security, and operational efficiency.
- Leads and mentors Associate level employees.
- Evaluates emerging technologies and industry trends, making informed recommendations to strengthen KIND’s IT operations and security posture.
- Operates as a broad-based IT generalist across the Technology Team, flexing across infrastructure, security, and enterprise systems initiatives as organizational priorities evolve.
- Develops and maintain documentation, operational standards, and procedures to promote consistency and resilience across the IT environment.
- Performs additional duties as assigned in support of KIND’s technology strategy.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience across multiple IT domains or similar experience, demonstrating breadth of knowledge rather than deep specialization in a single area.
- Proven ability to lead and execute complex technical initiatives from planning through implementation, applying strong project management practices.
- Experience overseeing or coordinating cybersecurity and compliance activities, including collaboration with internal teams and third-party vendors during incident response.
- Strong working knowledge of endpoint management, cloud infrastructure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), and enterprise productivity environments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Purview and the Azure ecosystems, including security and compliance capabilities.
- Experience supporting technology operations within a mid-sized (400+ employee), multi-site, or international organization.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and operational teams.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and travel periodically as needed.
- Experience in nonprofit, mission-driven, or service-oriented organizations.
- Experience supporting legal aid organizations or law firms across diverse technology platforms
- Relevant certifications in project management, cloud infrastructure, or security.
- Ability to work collaboratively and multi-task in our KIND environment, managing numerous priorities and emerging opportunities.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects in a deadline-oriented environment; ability to prioritize tasks and delegate as appropriate.
- Ability to multitask and work with a sense of urgency in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

- Experience working and communicating in a remote environment preferred but not required.
