We are seeking an experienced Housing Coordinator to join our client Churches of Christ - an organisation who has been an active part of the community for more than 130 years.
Churches of Christ support vulnerable people across Queensland and Victoria through housing, family services, aged care and community programs. Today, more than 3,800 staff and 1,000 volunteers continue this mission across 200 services in over 100 communities.
The Housing Coordinator will oversee tenancy operations at the team's Slacks Creek housing site (124 units) while also providing support to our Gold Coast housing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with housing or community services experience and strong people leadership skills who wants to play a meaningful role helping individuals and families maintain safe, stable housing.
About the Role
You will lead the day-to-day housing operations for a 124-unit housing site and provide leadership and support to the broader Housing Programs team, including the Gold Coast region.
You will supervise Housing Officers and support staff while ensuring tenancy services are delivered in line with legislation, organisational policies, and best practice community housing standards.
This role offers a great mix of team leadership, tenancy management oversight, property coordination and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support Housing Officers, Assistant Housing Officers, and support staff.
- Oversee tenancy management, including allocations, eligibility, rent, and anti-social behaviour.
- Ensure compliance with tenancy legislation and organisational policies.
- Monitor property standards, coordinate maintenance, and minimise rental loss.
- Promote tenant engagement and manage feedback and complaints processes.
- Analyse tenancy trends, report on outcomes, and support service improvements.
- Collaborate with asset management to ensure housing meets client needs.
- Foster a culture of client service, safety, and continuous improvement.
You are a confident and practical leader who understands the complexities of housing services and is passionate about supporting people to sustain their tenancies.
You will bring:
- Experience working within housing, community services or social housing
- Staff leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience coordinating services or managing operational programs
- Ability to prepare reports, briefings and performance documentation
- Diploma in Social Housing, Community Services or related field (or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of tenancy legislation (or ability to quickly develop this knowledge)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement ability
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability
You will have a current driver’s licence and be willing to obtain a National Police Check, Working with Children Check / Blue Card, and have a commitment to the mission and values of Churches of Christ.
