The Smith Family is a national children’s education charity that works with children and young people to overcome educational inequality caused by poverty – so they can thrive now and into their futures.
About the role
We are seeking a Family Partnership Coordinator to support children and young people within the Western Sydney Region; this region covers Seven Hills, Mount Druitt and Cranebrook/Penrith community. The Position will be reporting to the Team Leader and working alongside dedicated, and passionate team members, you will:
- Take a family-centred approach, building partnerships with Learning for Life families
- Connect with partner schools in the community to support referral to the Learning for Life Program
- Complete administrative tasks and data entry to help plan your day and focus your efforts
- Engage with community organisations, linking families to services, information, and support
- Contribute as valued members of a local Learning for Life Team and collaborate with the broader organisation
- Focus on personal and professional growth including on-the-job skill development and regular coaching with your leader
About you
As well as passion for capacity building in the community, you will bring the following:
- Experience in building strong relationships with families and community stakeholders
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Capability to work autonomously and being part of the highly dedicated and passionate team
- Organising your own day, problem solving and adapting when things do not go to plan
- Computer literacy and motivation; completing administrative or data entry tasks and achieving goals
- Own your own car and in possession of a current driver’s licence
