KIPP SoCal Public Schools is a nonprofit organization that operates 20 tuition-free, open-enrollment charter public schools, within 17 Local Education Agencies (LEA), educating more than 10,000 students and supporting 8,300 alumni to and through college and beyond. Our award winning schools are part of the national KIPP (Knowledge Is Power Program) network, dedicated to meeting the needs of all learners and providing the social, emotional and academic support for success in high school, college, and life.

Overview:
KIPP SoCal Public Schools is seeking a skilled and service-oriented Network and Systems Coordinator who will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of technology infrastructure across the organization's 20 schools. The Network and Systems Coordinator will be responsible for supporting and maintaining network systems, troubleshooting technical issues, administering critical technology platforms, and partnering with school teams and vendors to deliver exceptional technology support.
This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role that supports both day-to-day technology operations and long-term infrastructure initiatives. This position will be a critical part of the KIPP SoCal team and family, working closely with school operations staff and will occasionally support teachers and students directly. This position will report to the Network and Systems Associate and will be based out of the School Success Team office in Los Angeles, though significant time spent in schools will be expected.

Roles and Responsibilities: Network Troubleshooting & Support
- Provide timely and effective first-response technical support for network related issues across KIPP SoCal Public Schools, currently 20 schools across southern California
- Utilize available monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve network performance issues
- Provide training, support and self-help instruction to end-users to ensure technology is used properly and effectively
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues on a variety of devices ranging from Mac computers, Windows computers, and Chromebooks
- Work with technology team to recommend and implement improvements
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Partner effectively with vendors and service providers to support network operations , projects and incident resolution
Roles and Responsibilities: Network Administration
- Manage, maintain, design, and implement network infrastructure, including network switches, routers, firewalls, wireless devices, UPS, etc.
- Perform management duties across all network cabling and POTS lines at all school sites
- Perform network device configuration and data backups routinely as defined by standard policies and procedures
- Practice diligent network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information
- Monitor, manage, and assist external consultants with projects and repairs as necessary
- Partner in the planning and execution of network builds and teardowns
Roles and Responsibilities: Systems Administration
- Management, support and troubleshooting of critical systems, including but not limited to:
- Google Workspace for Education
- OpenDNS web-filtering service
- CrashPlan backup system
- SonicWall Unified Management
- Smallstep System
- Backupify backup systems
- Jive hosted VoIP (Voice over IP)
Key Technologies to Support (experience preferred, but not required)
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP network and related network services
- Knowledge of LAN and Wireless technologies, switches, and cables in an enterprise network
- ExtremeCloud and Juniper Mist Wireless Management
- Brocade and Cisco layer 2 and layer 3 switches
- Firewall Appliances (SonicWall, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc.)
- Web Content Filtering (Cisco Umbrella (OpenDNS))
- VPN technology
- Google Apps Domain Management / Control Panel (GMail; Google Docs; etc.)
- Google Android and ChromeOS Management (Chromebooks and Android tablets)
- Apple, Android, PC operating systems
Qualifications
- Commitment to KIPP SoCal’s mission and values
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience supporting technology systems, preferably in an educational environment.
- Logical, organized work skills including the prioritization and timely resolution of multiple tasks involving simultaneous issues
- Passion to learn new skills and technologies
- Possess excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Able to build strong relationships and trust with internal and external stakeholders
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills

- Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Willingness to travel between sites in the Los Angeles area. Occasional travel to San Diego will be required (current regional footprint: South, Southeast, East Los Angeles and San Diego)
- A valid California driver’s license and dependable transportation

Compensation & Benefits
- KIPP SoCal Public Schools offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The hourly rate range for this position is $26.00 to $39.00/hour. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a hourly rate between the range minimum and the range midpoint of $32.50 depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budget allocated for this role.
