The Director of Philanthropy is responsible for planning and administering a comprehensive and balanced fundraising program in support of of the organization's goals. This position will likely have both direct fund-raising and operational and / or program oversight as part of their job portfolio.
- Must have led a major comprehensive fundraising campaign of at least $5 million preferably in a healthcare setting
- Must have personally secured multiple six to seven-figure gifts from individuals, corporations, or foundations throughout professional career
- Must have secured corporate and foundation grants of at least six-figures
- Oversees the fundraising progress toward individual and team goals and work toward the successful attainment of those goals according to the development plan.
- Sets and implements complex strategic activities/collateral for fundraising. Creates menu of giving opportunities and writes case statements and proposals.
- Oversees the management and recruitment of staff, volunteer and support groups, councils, committees and measures their impact on the overall goals of the associated organization.

- Manages a portfolio of prospects and donors to build and maintain a prospect and donor base for the National Foundation. Works with prospects and develop their relationship with the organization, ultimately increasing giving.
- Must exhibit a passion and demonstrated support of advancing the mission of health equity while keeping the organization's mission, vision and values at the forefront of decision making and action.
- Ensuring that the patient perspective is a driving force behind our actions and business decisions; crafting and implementing service practices that meet patients' and own organization’s needs.

- Building and assuming a portfolio of donors and conducting direct solicitations at the seven figure level.
- Self-starter who can work independently and collaborate with professional colleagues in both philanthropy and clinical;
- Visionary, storyteller to evangelize the work of the national foundation.
- Developing outreach strategies to encourage new gifts, as well as increasing current donor contributions at all levels.
- Building a pipeline of prospects guided by moves management principles.
