About The Role
Tides is seeking a Senior Manager, Fund Administration to lead Tides Foundation’s Fund Administration function. This position will hold a complex portfolio of partners and manage a team of Fund Administrators to ensure fund stewardship, workflow execution, regulatory compliance, process integrity and exceptional, equity-aligned partner service.
Serving as the operational lead, the Senior Manager will work cross-departmentally to solve partner escalations, measure and foster quality assurance, and assess the team’s capacity, to ensure seamless, effective and accurate partner service in a high-volume environment.
As a people leader, the Senior Manager will be expected to demonstrate Tides’ core competencies of Leading Self and Leading People.
What you will Do
Portfolio Management & Fund Stewardship Leader (30%)
Manage portfolio “health” through engagement monitoring, service metrics, exception reporting, and proactive issue resolution.
Team Leadership + Capacity Enablement (25%)
Lead, develop, and coach a team of Fund Administrators delivering support with grants processing and financial reporting, fund maintenance, and partner communications.
Operational Excellence, Controls, and Systems Stewardship (30%)
Serve as a primary cross-functional partner to Advancement, Finance, Legal, Compliance and Grants teams to resolve discrepancies, reinforce compliance, ensure partner needs are addressed in system and policy roll out planning, and streamline processing.
Advance readiness for key tools that enable scaling, using operational insights to inform configuration, workflows, and adoption plans for improvements.
Cross Functional Partner Engagement (15%)
What you will Bring
Portfolio & fund stewardship: Ability to manage a portfolio by monitoring engagement, pacing, service levels, and exception trends; translating insights into staffing/workflow decisions.
Fund management mechanics: Comfort with complex scopes of work, contract logistics, fee structures, grantmaking cycles, fund policies and compliance fund lifecycle transitions, and operational stewardship across DAF/CAF/SEF structures.
Equity-centered communication: Ability to model values-aligned partner service that reflects transparency, accountability, respect, and collaboration.
Judgment & discretion: Ability to manage confidential and sensitive donor information and nuanced operational issues with professionalism.
Independence: Ability to consistently exercise independent judgment on matters of significance.
Ideal Experience
7 years experience in fund administration, donor services, philanthropic operations, or comparable financial/partner servicing environments, including responsibility for complex portfolios and a relevant bachelor’s degree; or 9 years of relevant experience without a bachelor’s degree.
