Casual Contractor – Care Support
Cambridge, Waikato
We are seeking a caring, calm and flexible casual contractor to join a small, supportive team of support workers who support a friendly and enthusiastic young adult with a disability to live their best life, offering a supportive relationship to build confidence, community participation, and fun.
This role is unique. This role is ideal for someone who values meaningful connection and enjoys providing practical support, companionship and a steady, mature presence while encouraging independence and positive experiences.
The role
Based in Cambridge, the role includes:
- Providing transport and companionship at a regular activity (approximately 2 hours per week).
- Transport to and from evening social activities, as required.
- Being part of a team that accompanies and provides support on weekends away.
- Encouraging and offering support with daily chores and meal preparation.

You will be:
- Caring, calm and compassionate
- Patient, discreet, respectful and flexible
- Easy‑going, with a steady and mature presence
- Collaborative and willing to work as part of a small support team
- Mindful of the importance of being present, kind, open, honest and transparent.
- Someone who has a sense of humour with a fun-loving approach.
You will also:
- Hold a full clean driver’s licence
- Be confident and comfortable driving.

- $25–$30 per hour for weekday work (dependent on experience)
- A capped weekend rate, including accommodation and activities
