Duties And Responsibilities
The tasks listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the class as necessary. Develop, manage, and advance relationships with assigned donors, prospective donors, alumni, community leaders, business and industry partners, and other stakeholders through qualification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, personal outreach, and engagement strategies designed to strengthen relationships and increase philanthropic support. Identify donor interests and motivations, align philanthropic opportunities with College and Foundation priorities, and proactively qualify and advance new donor and prospect relationships to strengthen the Foundation’s donor pipeline. Support annual giving, major giving, planned giving, sponsorship, alumni engagement, and other fundraising initiatives, including the development and presentation of gift and sponsorship opportunities aligned with donor interests and institutional priorities. Represent Northeast Iowa Community College and the Foundation throughout the service area by cultivating donor, alumni, business, and community relationships; promoting College programs, services, and philanthropic opportunities; and participating in community events, campus activities, donor meetings, and partnership opportunities. Regular travel throughout the district is required.
Essential Functions
Utilize donor and prospect research, fundraising data, and CRM information to develop engagement strategies, support fundraising goals, and maintain accurate donor records, contact reports, and fundraising activity. Support donor stewardship and recognition activities that foster meaningful donor experiences and encourage continued engagement and philanthropic support. Collaborate on donor, alumni, and fundraising communication strategies that support engagement, stewardship, and solicitation efforts. Support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of fundraising, stewardship, alumni engagement, and donor recognition events and activities. Attend Foundation Board meetings and committee meetings as assigned. Collaborate with Advancement and College staff to support strategic initiatives, campaigns, communications, and community engagement efforts. Achieve annual fundraising, donor engagement, and portfolio performance goals as established by the Advancement Division.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. Three to five years of experience in fundraising, sales, business development, relationship management, higher education, nonprofit organizations or a related field preferred. Demonstrated experience building and maintaining relationships with individuals, organizations, or community stakeholders and developing strategies that advance organizational goals. Will consider an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position. Experience in an educational institution is preferred. Knowledge of fundraising principles, gift administration, and planned giving practices preferred. Certifications & Licenses Must possess a valid driver’s license.
