The Day Program Manager is responsible for:
- Direct supervision of DSPs and Senior DSPs (if applicable)
- Management of PA Day Program
- Lead and develop DSP staff through hiring, training, performance reviews, regular 1:1 meetings, and provision of ongoing feedback, while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures
- Oversee program operations: approve timesheets and PTO requests, maintain confidentiality, ensure maintenance of staff certifications and trainings, maintain positive relationships with supported individuals, families and other stakeholders
- Promote a positive team culture through recognition, communication, professional development, participation in organizational initiatives, and providing direct support coverage when needed
- Person-Centered Approach
- Support individuals in identifying and achieving their goals, promoting self-advocacy, informed decision-making, meaningful community involvement, and strong personal relationships
- Ensure individuals' rights are understood, respected, and protected, while leveraging tools such as POMS and assistive technology to enhance independence and personal outcomes
- Incident Management
- Ensure all incidents are reported, investigated and resolved in compliance with regulatory requirements including timely notifications, documentation, and corrective action
- Prioritize the health and safety of individuals by managing incident response processes, participating in reviews, and conducting investigations when needed
- Assessment Process
- Oversee planning process by ensuring the scheduling of PCP/ISP meetings, assessments, and required documentation are completed accurately and on time while keeping support plans current and aligned with individuals' needs
- Monitor plan implementation, audit services and supports for accuracy, and participate in SIS assessments to ensure support requirements are properly documented and reflected in service plans
- Compliance
- Ensure staff are trained on PCP/ISP updates, individual support plans, required certifications, documentation standards, workplace injury reporting, vehicle maintenance, and licensing compliance
- Complete Train-the-Trainer medication administration requirements, support timely medical and dental care, and ensure individuals spent at least 25% of their month engaged in community services, with improvement plans created when necessary
- Financial Oversight
- Manage program and individual finances by helping develop and adhere to budgets, monitor financial activity for accuracy and integrity, review financial reports, ensure organizational funds and expenses are handles in accordance with policy
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Minimum two years of supervisory experience within the IDD/human services field
- Bachelor's degree + 2 years of related experience OR Associate's degree + 4 years of related experience
- Valid driver's license with 2 years of driving experience on a full license (time spent driving on a learner's permit/provisionary license does NOT count toward the two-year requirement)
