Summary:Thispositionwilltrackandsupportone hundredhighschoolgraduatesfromthefourhighsschoolswesupport throughourCommunitySchools,In-SchoolYouth,andLearningtoWorkprograms.Directsupportforthesestudents wouldbeintendedtoensuretheestablishmentofgoodhabitsandtheconnectiontoresourcesneededtosucceedat thecollegelevel.WillworkwithallHSbasedprogramsdirectorstoimplementabestpracticemethodsmodelacrossall AlianzaDivisionprograms.Willhelpdevelopacollegeentryandcollegeaccessbestpracticemodelforthedivision.Will monitorthesuccessofourinterventionsbyfollowingupwithalumni,adjustingsupportsatthepre-andpost-secondary levelasneeded.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Represent program and agency at all major Coalitions, forums, Trainings and Citywidepartnershipsthataddress College and Work readiness opportunities for our programs andparticipants.
- Willworkoncreatingacollegereadinesscurriculumforthedivision.
- ConductinitialprogramandparticipantassessmenttoidentifyourneedasadivisiontostrengthenourCollege andCareerReadinessgoals.
- ProvideworkshopsandtrainingtoYouthadvocates aboutCollegeandCareerReadiness.
- CoordinatewithallHSbasedDirectors,CollegeTours,CollegeFairs,CareerExposandotheropportunities thatwillbenefitourHSparticipants.
- CreatewithHSbasedDirectorstocreateanalumnicommitteethatcancomebacktooursitestotalkabout theircollegeandourworkexperience.
- Create partnerships with local banks and financial institutions to create financial literacy classes for our participants and their parents orguardians.
- Assisttomaintainthemonthlycalendarofprogramactivitiesandworkshopsavailabletoparticipants.
- Attend inter-office meetings as well as outside agencies’ meetings asappropriate.
- ParticipateinstaffmeetingperiodicallyatallHSbasedsites.
- Planandusecommunityresourcesthatenrichtheeducationalcontentoftheprogram.
- Createaparent's guardiansadvocacyteamacrossallprogramstospeaktostakeholdersandelectedofficials aroundCollegeandWorkreadinessneedsinourcommunity.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Ability to work flexible hours is a requirement.

•Use a computer at least 40% of thetime.

Qualifications
Education and/or experiencerequired:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field.
- Minimum three (3) years' experience working with youth and working in an in-school setting.
Skills, Licenses, and/or competencies required:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to motivateparticipants.
- Ability to work well in ateam environment.
- Excellent network-building and outreachskills.
- Ability to effectively interact and work with individuals with diversebackgrounds.
- Mustbeorganizedanddetailorientedandworkeffectivelyunderpressureinbothteams setting andindividually.
- Excellentcomputerskillsandexperience(Internet,MicrosoftWord,Excel,PowerPoint).
- MustbefingerprintedandclearedbyNYCDOEandcompleteabackgroundcheck.
