Job Duties
Planning a signature fundraising event, which this year will honor the legacy of Nick’s Seafood Pavilion and Nick and Mary Mathews. This intern will assist with researching JYF’s archives for information about the Mathews and Nick’s Seafood Pavilion while also researching and implementing logistics for the event and working with volunteers and vendors.
Principal Job Functions:
• Research in JYF’s collections to find information about the Mathews as well as items that
can be used as ideas for the dinner (decoration, potential special exhibition items guests
can interact with etc.).
• Work with Director of Major gifts to identify prospects for sponsorships and in-kind
donations for the event.
• Assist with tracking responses in the database for guests who purchase tables and tickets.
Monitor progress of registration, ticket sales and income goals and help to adjust plans as
needed.
• Work with Assistant Director of the Annual Fund to create and implement advertising and
marketing plan
• Manage coordination of any appropriate contracts for vendors.
Minimum Qualifications
• Familiarity with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work independently
• Basic knowledge of databases
• Familiarity with internet research
• Any prior event experience a plus
Additional Considerations
Must be currently enrolled in or have recently completed at least 1 year in a higher education or a skilled trade or a tech program.
