Position Overview:
The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) is looking to hire a Beat Writer to follow, interview, report, and storytell around the Denver Outlaws. The Beat Writer will identify key storylines, spotlight superstar players, and prepare pre-and post-game coverage. This candidate must be a strong interpersonal communicator and a passionate storyteller. The ideal candidate will create consistent and authentic content while providing fans with increased access to their favorite club.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Write long-form features on Denver Outlaws players
- Cover breaking news (i.e. coaching hires, free agent signings, trades, transactions, injuries)
- Ask critical questions in postgame press conferences
- Work closely with the Denver Outlaws social media team to identify key beats and storylines
Qualifications:
- Strong writing skills
- Experience in 1-on-1 interviews and press conferences
- Knowledge of the league landscape and player movement calendar
- Ability to engage and interact with fanbases through Twitter, Discord, and other social media
- “A”-Level writer and communicator
