Head of Philanthropy

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our client as their Head of Philanthropy on a permanent basis, with significant autonomy and the opportunity to make a lasting impact.
The role
The purpose of the Head of Philanthropy role is to develop the Major Gifts function, by driving engagement with major donors and fostering meaningful relationships to secure transformational gifts in support of our client’s mission.
Reporting directly to the Director of Development, you will have the opportunity to shape the role and develop a comprehensive major gifts strategy to unlock the full potential of our client’s donor base.
You will lead face-to-face engagements with donors, leveraging the prestige and influence of the organisation to secure significant philanthropic investments. You will also collaborate closely with colleagues across the organisation to identify priority projects and funding opportunities that align with donor interests and institutional priorities.
Key facts
Contract: Full-time permanent
Hybrid working pattern: home working blended with working out of client's London offices
Salary range: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum + benefits
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
• Demonstrated success in consistently meeting six-figure income targets, whether in fundraising or a comparable results-driven environment.
• Proven ability to navigate negotiations and influence stakeholders with an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Outstanding interpersonal, networking, and communication abilities, facilitating effective relationship-building.
• Adept in crafting articulate and persuasive written content, delivering high-quality, compelling proposals.
• Experience in line management, budget oversight, and event coordination, showcasing proficiency in organisational leadership.
• Confidence in cultivating and sustaining relationships with senior individuals and organisations, fostering enduring connections.
