The UFAA strengthens The Gator Nation® by involving and engaging its alumni, students and friends thereby fostering pride, participation and philanthropy, and performing all business-related matters to accomplish these purposes.
The Graduate Assistant for Student and Young Alumni Philanthropy will serve as a member of the Annual Giving team within Advancement and the UFAA. This position supports students, alumni, donors, and campus partners to enhance the student experience and Gator Nation. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Young Alumni Programs.
Time Commitment: 20 hours per week which may include occasional night and weekend hours, and the potential for additional time required during peak periods such as the beginning and end of each semester.
Contract Dates: August 14, 2024 – May 14, 2025 (tentative)
Remuneration: For UF: $19,200 annual salary and in-state tuition for nine (9) credit hours per semester. Eligibility to enroll in GatorGradCare. GA receives 5 personal days per semester.
Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as a co-advisor to the Florida Cicerones, providing support and guidance to the official student ambassadors of the University of Florida.
- Meet regularly with executive board members to guide their personal leadership growth, the continued development of the organization, and specific positional duties and goals.
- Assist with tracking the allocated $40,000+ budget for Florida Cicerones.
- Assist with the management and coordination of the Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow membership program including but not limited to developing and maintaining signature programs (BEAT Tees, Tradition Keepers, and F Book).
- Manage the hiring, training, and scheduling of 5-10 student staff for summer Preview sales.
- Support the University of Florida Alumni Association events as needed.
- Develop, conduct, and analyze research and assessments for various programs and services of the University of Florida Alumni Association including but not limited to programming needs assessment, effectiveness of programs and services, and student satisfaction. Benchmark against other state institutions, southeastern institutions, as well as top ten institutions to determine best practices for student and young alumni programming.
- Participate in ongoing evaluations to assess personal growth and development.
- Meet with supervisor for weekly one-on-one meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned.
