Position Summary:
Grossman Young & Hammond, LLC seeks an experienced immigration or international human rights lawyer with a demonstrated commitment to safeguarding fundamental human rights. This attorney will work both with the Firm’s International Protection Practice, as well as the Immigration Litigation Practice, providing critical support to Partners in advocacy before INTERPOL, international human rights bodies like the U.N. Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, U.S. federal and immigration courts, and Executive Branch agencies responsible for administering and enforcing U.S. immigration law, including ICE, CBP, USCIS, and DOS. Such advocacy will primarily include research and writing, development of case narratives and theory, as well as regular interaction with Clients.
The Firm expects the person hired for this position to possess the knowledge, judgment, and skill set to handle cases assigned to them with minimal and often no supervision – and to do so at the high-level clients expect from our Firm. They will be expected to provide clients with authoritative and timely responses to questions. They will also be expected to review the work of and provide training to paralegals to ensure that Firm work product consistently meets our standards.
The ideal candidate will be a team player, committed to developing their own client base, crafting creative strategies for advocating for clients, and engaging with peers, including through active involvement in the American Immigration Lawyers Association and other bar associations.

J.D. and a minimum of 4 years’ experience in international and/or immigration law required. Successful applicants with additional experience will be offered compensation commensurate with their experience.
Foreign language skills, especially Spanish, strongly preferred.
Expected Hours:
40+ hours per week
Domestic and International travel may be required.
Work is completed both in the office and remotely. (If fully remote employee, is willing to travel for key in-person meetings).
