Position Summary

Under the general direction of the agency's Director of Development and Community Outreach and AmeriCorps Seniors (ACS) program policy guidelines, the Seniors Program Manager is responsible for the development and operation of the ACS Foster Grandparent Program (FGP), Senior Companion Program (SCP) and One Township at a Time project; in coordination with the ACS Program Advisory Council and Leadership Team.

The Seniors Program Manager is responsible for the effective management of the ACS FGP and SCP and the One Township at a Time project. This includes supervising, training, and supporting program staff. This position ensures program compliance with federal, state, and local contracts and works with the Finance department to develop and maintain budgets for each program and funding source.

Annual Wage Range; $60,000.00-$72,000.00

Flexible work schedule after an initial training period that includes working in the office and out of the office.

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities

Plans and develops all phases of the ACS FCP and SCP operations.
Plans and develops all phases of the One Township at a Time project.
Develops and manages program policies, procedures, and standards.
Assists in budget development and adherence.
Monitors the expenditure of funds under contracts and operations within the program budget.
Responsible for the invitation to Bid (ITB)/Request for Proposal (RFP) program process.
Ensures contract compliance, including compliance with performance metrics.
Manages program staff including recruiting, overseeing professional development, and evaluating performance.
Oversees the development of the volunteer training curriculum.
Manages and maintains all levels of the Advisory Council and Leadership Team. Identifies people in the community to serve on the Advisory Council and Leadership Team.
Oversees the gathering and submission of measurable outcomes to support regulating compliance for program effectiveness.
Represents ACS Foster Grandparents and Senior Companions Programs by engaging the community in which it serves.
Working alongside various AmeriCorps Senior Associations, advocating for program improvements to ensure program effectiveness.
Reviews and approves Memos of Understanding with partnering agencies prior to submission.
Oversees staff in recruiting and maintaining volunteers to accomplish units of service.
Oversees and ensures up to date and complete volunteer and program records in accordance with federal and program regulations focusing on National Service Criminal History checks.
Attends training to maintain an understanding of federal and state requirements, communicates changes to staff, and devises effective systems to meet on-going and new demands.
Collaborates with Agency Philanthropy Department in design, development, and management of marketing materials and identifies new grant opportunities and new program initiatives.
Manages program volunteer funds and volunteer expenses assessing line item expenditures as they compare to the timing of each grant’s allocation.
Drives for Agency business.
Performs other special assignments at supervisor’s request.

Knowledge of grant and budget processes.
Ability to relate effectively with older adults, professionals and the community.
Ability to positively motivate staff and communicate the mission and create effective methods of fulfilling the mission.
Ability to synthesize and analyze information and create reports.
Ability to prioritize work and assist others in problem solving.
Strong computer skills including excel and the ability to learn new applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Recommended Employment Qualifications

Education:

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in human services or business related field.

A Master’s Degree is preferred.
