Job Description
Integrated Behavioral Technologies, Inc. is a not-for-profit that strives to meet the needs of children, their families, and the communities they serve and for that reason, IBT develops services to meet those needs. IBT partners with many state and federal programs to make services available to families. We provide in-home services to teach children in the natural environment and make services accessible to all families with children with autism.
Our organization is currently seeking a Supportive Home Care Provider in the Emporia, KS area to provide short-term care for a child that allows the primary caregiver relief. This type of provider does not necessarily have to have previous experience with autism in order for them to succeed at their job. Because individuals with autism are so unique, every treatment plan and program is developed based on the individual child's and family's needs. If this fits you, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities
- Employees must be enthusiastic, flexible, and have a strong desire to work with children and adolescents with special needs.
- Provides one-on-one assistance for individuals living with family or a foster family. Assistance may include support with daily living tasks, social/recreation opportunities, and other adaptive skills to help increase independence and community involvement.
- Supports patients by providing housekeeping and laundry services, shopping for food and other household requirements, preparing and serving meals and snacks, and running errands.
- Assists patients by providing personal services, such as, bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Follow behavior intervention plans in place for that individual child.
- Providers must have a high school diploma and not be living with the individual for whom they are providing care and complete the state mandated training.
- Employees must possess a valid ID, reliable transportation, and maintain appropriate auto insurance.
- Employees must pass criminal background checks as required by each funding source.
- Employees are expected to engage in training and learning activities as outlined by IBT. These could encompass attending trainings, reading journal articles on behavior analysis, and conducting research as part of the treatment team.
- Employees are encouraged to donate two (2) hours per month by participating in one of IBT’s
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- A connection to autism is a plus*
- Assertiveness to “pick up a phone” and call potential businesses and individuals
