We are currently in search of a Development and Communications Manager for a Community Development Nonprofit. The position is hybrid in Rogers Park, Chicago. This is a temp to hire, full-time assignment.

HOURLY PAY: $32.00-$34.00/hour; $75,000/annual salary
Is This Your Dream Job: The Development and Communications Manager will work closely with the agency’s senior management team, to lead fundraising efforts through grant proposal writing, individual/corporate donor cultivation and external messaging. The Development Manager will interact with various community partners and stakeholders to help the organization improve its image and marketing strategies to support volunteer recruitment, marketing and outreach strategies for all agency programs.
Our Ideal Candidate:
· Minimum of a Bachelors degree is required
· 2+ years of nonprofit work experience in a development related role, specifically with grant writing and fundraising experience is required
· 2+ years of experience in nonprofit communications strategy development is required. Must have strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communications skills
· Familiarity with Quickbooks Pro and Excel experience is required to assist with programmatic and grant proposal budgeting,
· Minimum 1 year of experience coordinating successful fundraising events including, including but not limited to crowdfunding or other online fundraising experience is required
· 1+ year of working experience with social media campaigns, including but not limited to GoFundMe, Eventbrite, Constant Contact and/or MailChimp is a plus
· Great attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects and respond to deadlines in a timely manner
· Excellent team player who is open to working in a fluid, fast paced environment with the ability to be flexible and adjust to changing organizational needs/initiatives
· Proven participation and ability to work collaboratively with internal team members and management staff for the purposes of achieving job related goals/objectives
How You Will Spend Your Day:
· Serving as a member of the agency’s development team, reviewing its current communications and fundraising strategies, and designing/redesigning strategies to help the agency strengthen its financial and organizational capacity;
· Leading the agency’s fundraising efforts, including event brain-storming, marketing, planning, and coordinating
fundraising event(s), etc;
· Managing foundational requests for proposals, grant writing, cultivating sponsorships, scheduling site visits and preparing programmatic/ organizational materials in order to provide a more complete picture of the agency’s services and the positive result(s) it achieves for its clients;
· Reviewing and improving the agency’s communications strategies on social media and other digital platforms, including printed materials, photos, videos and websites by actively working to engage people and building organizational brand awareness;
· Writing/editing samples of outgoing public service announcements/ communications, newsletters and other educational and fundraising materials;
· Collecting, creating and maintaining the agency’s donor database, photo & video archives, and client testimonials;
· Working with agency staff to determine the changing needs of the community, uncover new resources, and/or helping recruit volunteers to improve programmatic capacity;
· Supporting the overall administrative and fundraising efforts of the agency, including creating new online fundraising campaigns (GoFundMe, etc.) during critical times, such as community emergencies, etc.;
· Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
