Youth Development Coordinator - CF
Calling all youth development enthusiasts! True Friends is looking for students who are passionate about working with teens (ages 14+) and young adults and developing important skills that fosters self-confidence, independence, and self-efficacy while they support staff and campers in cabins throughout the week.
As the Youth Development (Volunteer) Coordinator you will…
- Share responsibilities with co-Coordinator.
- Responsible for running youth development programs each week.
- Lead engaging orientation and ice breakers pre-camper arrival.
- 20-25 youth volunteers ages 14+ each week.
- Supervise volunteers within the camp community and the Volunteer House.
- Mentor youths and young adults in various situations.
- Complete volunteer evaluations and all volunteer communication.
- Work successfully with Volunteer Services admin to coordinate scheduling, tracking, and more.
*Comprehensive training, housing & meals are provided*
Seasonal position.
Orientation starts end of May 2024
Position end date varies by site: middle of August 2024
- Age 21+
- Passionate about youth development.
- Comfortable as a leader and role model.
- Comfortable in leading small and large groups of teens.
- Organized and are able to pay great attention to detail.
- Successfully able to lead and coach others.
- Passionate about making a difference in the world.
- Happy to live and work in a communal setting.
- Eager to take initiative and have a strong work ethic.
- Able to be flexible and adapt to an ever-changing environment.
- CPR/First Aid certified, Lifeguard certified, camping experience, prior experience with the population are highly valued but NOT required.
