Goodwill Industries of Northern Illinois is seeking an On Call Job Coach for its Supported Employment Program in the Freeport community. The Job Coach is responsible for providing on the job training and support at the participant’s place of employment in the community. Training completed before the Job Coach is assigned a participant will be paid the hourly rate of $14.50. The Job Coach will then be paid an hourly rate of $17.00 when assigned to a participant and their worksite. The Job Coach is only paid when called to complete training and when assigned to a participant.
Specific job responsibilities include:
- Provide individualized job coaching and support services following the participant’s employment plan for systematic reduction of job coaching.
- Evaluate and assess participants while on their job site.
- Monitor participant’s progress on tasks.
- Provide customized instruction and training to the participant per the employer.
- Communicate effectively with employer to monitor participant’s progress and address any concerns.
- Assist employers in modification of job descriptions, restructuring of job tasks, or worksite changes which better accommodate the needs of the participant.
- Maintain detailed case notes in the ETO database on participant’s progress in job.
- Ability to assist with staffing meetings for the participants.
- Communicate effectively about participant’s progress and status with Goodwill Program Manager.
- Build and maintain employer relationships.
- Assure participant confidentiality.
- Attend required Goodwill trainings.
- Follow the routine duties set forth by Mission Services staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED; higher education preferred. CPR certification preferred. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with disabilities and understand and communicate with diverse groups; the ability to motivate and assist individuals in performing work; and strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to complete case noting and reports outside of job coaching either virtually or at the Goodwill office. Must have reliable transportation to various worksites with proof of insurance, flexibility and willingness to work day, evening, or weekend hours. These temporary positions are expected to begin within 60-90 days.
