When you join PPGNY as the Senior Director, Clinical Practice Operations you will serve as an affiliate-wide leader focused on the successful management of multiple clinical programs in abortion, sexual and reproductive healthcare. This position will work across teams to directly oversee pharmacy and lab operations, in collaboration with the Medical Leadership Team. The Senior Director is responsible for ensuring adherence to PPFA Medical Standards and Guidelines, ARMS Recommendations, and state and federal regulatory agencies. This position works in collaboration with other PPGNY Departments to ensure programs and services are implemented at the highest standards and patients receive the highest level of quality care.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides key support, oversight, and implementation support for pharmacy and lab operational workflows, manuals, regulatory requirements and program enhancements, and reporting requirements.
- Maintains full knowledge of current clinical operations and impact analysis of planned changes for implementation and standardization.
- Oversees development and implementation of the Pharmacy and Lab Manuals, including inventory control, medication management, controlled substance ordering and reconciliation in collaboration with the Pharmacy and Lab Director. Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies.
- Oversees lab and pharmacy audit schedules with consultants, reviews findings to ensure compliance and address variances.
- Participates in creation, implementation, and monitoring of RQM plan for key areas.
- Responsible for development and implementation of the Health Center Operations Manual and policies and procedures for areas of responsibility.
- Ensures staff have proper training and support to ensure excellent patient care. Includes planning Didactics and other training, and completion of mandatory training in accordance with expected timelines.
- Responsible for EPIC workflows, training, and system improvements for pharmacy and lab operations. Participates in EPIC Core Team.
- Prepares required reports to PPFA, NYSDOH, and other regulatory/accreditation/funding agencies as needed. Participates in meetings related to pharmacy and lab compliance.
- Monitors operations budget and works in collaboration with Clinical Operations and Finance and Revenue Cycle staff to ensure adherence to policies and procedures. Includes reviewing General Ledger on monthly basis and identification and resolution of budget variance for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Participates in developing, implementing, and monitoring contracts with vendors. Ensures all vendors and contractors meet deliverables. Includes oversight and management of all pharmacy and lab consultants and vendors.
- Ensures adherence to Medical Standards & Guidelines, NYS Health Department and PPFA guidelines for all services. Works in conjunction with Risk & Compliance and Patient Safety & Quality to implement and monitor policies and procedures including serving as a committee member focusing on patient safety and quality, compliance in assigned areas.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with rules and regulations that impact operations, including participation in audits and the development and implementation of Corrective Action Plans.
- In partnership with SVP, strengthen the internal culture of data and accountability with the centering and application of a race equity lens in all programs, services, and performance management.
- Serves as representative and functional lead for Clinical Operations at meetings across all agency departments.
- Participates in ongoing professional development opportunities as they relate to PPGNY role and duties.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- NYS licensed Advanced Practice Clinician (Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner) or master’s degree in healthcare administration, and/or a similar field of study with progressive years of work experience in clinical operations in a healthcare setting at a leadership level with 5+ years of progressive work experience in administration.
- Work experience in an ambulatory care, hospital or similar environment licensed by New York State Department of Health Article 28.
- Previous experience at a Planned Parenthood or other sexual and reproductive healthcare experience preferred.
- Management of 10+ professional level clinical and non-clinical direct reports in a complex, multi-location environment, including performance management, training and development. Experience with unionized employees is helpful.
- Work experience with Pharmacy and Lab management and regulatory compliance in a health care setting.
- Extensive travel, >25%, to all assigned health care centers and to other regions as necessary.
- Flexibility and responsiveness required as necessary to emergent issues requiring attention on evenings, weekends, holidays.
$167,000 - $175,000 a year
