Position Summary:
The Food Service Worker is responsible for the clean-up of the meal period for which he/she is responsible. The Food Service Worker is also responsible for providing service in a friendly and congenial manner.
The starting salary for this On-Call position ranges from $17.25 to $20.56/hour.
Position Responsibilities include:
• Ensures resident satisfaction regarding meals through quality, quantity and presentation.
• Observes and practices all department safety and sanitation standards.
• Sets up and breaks down the dining room tables for breakfast, lunch and dinner meals.
• Uses the dishwasher to clean breakfast, lunch, and dinner dishes, utensils, pots and pans.
• Works the food tray-line.
• Wraps the silverware and filling condiment holders.
• Sorts the food tray carts.
• Prepares nourishments and stocks food deliveries.
• Completes cleaning assignments in the dietary services areas using proper chemicals, mops and brooms.
• Works as a team member to foster and ensure excellent communications and cooperation within the department.
Qualifications
Education:
High school graduation or equivalent G.E.D.
Training and Experience:
Previous experience working in a restaurant or food service establishment preferred.
Job Knowledge:
Has the ability to read and to follow written as well as verbal instructions and to sort food tray cards. Knowledge of food serving and dish washing sanitary procedures and safety standards in working with cleaning chemicals.
