ROLE AND
RESPONSIBLITIES
OVERARCHING:
·Serves as a resource for employees, providing information on HR
processes and policies.
·Manages
onboarding, performance, employee engagement, and employee recognition programs
for effectiveness, making recommendations for changes.
·including but not limited to payroll, benefits, and leave;
disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations in partnership with Chief of
People Success Officer.
·Schedules meetings and drafts both internal
and external communications for the People Success programs and Chief People
Success Officer.
·Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants,
employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the
appropriate staff.
·Assists with the selection and implementation
of processes and systems to enhance the employee experience at TCLP.
·Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory
changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and
employment law.
RECRUITING,
ONBOARDING AND OFFBOARDING:
·
·Conducts or acquires background checks, reference checks and
employee eligibility verifications.
·Collects
and processes all new hire onboarding items including background screenings,
Form I-9 documents, etc.
·Manages,
schedules, and conducts new hire orientation, including assigning and tracking
completion of compliance training.
·Manages
offboarding process including conducting and analyzing exit interviews.
PAYROLL,
BENEFITS AND SYSTEM MANAGEMENT:
·Manage payroll and benefits process accurately and in
accordance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
·Manage the accuracy of systems to ensure all changes are
accounted for including changes to title, pay, manager etc. in alignment with
payroll and benefit processing schedules.
COMPLIANCE,
RECORDKEEPING AND POLICIES:
- Keeps
current with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations
and ensures organizational compliance.
- Ensures
all TCLP HR policies are applied consistently.
- Maintains
complete personnel records.
- Ensures
all employee records are audit-ready, accurate, and up to date.
TRAVEL:
- Travels
periodically travel for in-person staff gatherings throughout the year.
Performs other duties as assigned.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate for this position will possess many, if not
all, of the following qualifications:

journey with regard to institutional grounding in Black Liberation, Climate
Justice, and Just Transition.
·Passion
for integrity and demonstration of the highest ethical standards at all times.
Ability to coach others on developing these skills in their own actions and in
addressing ethical concerns as they arise.
·Bachelor’s
degree in business administration or human resources or related field or
equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience
·Minimum 2 years of experience in similar
role with working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines.
- Experience working with payroll
systems and HRIS highly desired.
- Demonstrated
impact in connecting with employees and understanding their needs,
including managing a remote or hybrid workforce.
- Ability
to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability
to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Thorough
knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
